Background: The chase

This scene by Bruno will provide the background for Pascale’s run towards Annick — and the chase by the boy of the house. Again, the detail is extraordinary.

Background: And contact

Bruno had the interesting challenge of painting a background capturing the 3D image of Annick pulling the elephant – while everything was still a bit of a work in progress. Of course, it is extraordinary.

Backdrop: And action!

This beautiful scene was painted by Donald and Jeff. It shows the maison in the distance with the long driveway down which Annick will pull the elephant on to the street – with her crew cheering her on.

This wonderful two-part scene, created by Fedno with help from Michou, will set the backdrop for Pascale coming to make contact with Annick. It is the “I see you, too” scene. It will be such is a wonderful scene! Very poignant.

Backdrop: Pascale in the home (1)

This is the first of a series of three backdrops created by Jeff, Ronaldo, Djecilia and Michou that show scenes from Pasale’s home life: cleaning while the children of the house watch the tele and sitting by herself while the family eats dinner and listens to the radio (which Pascale is overhearing). Appropriately, the muddy colours chosen for these scenes really contrast to the vibrant colours chosen for the maison and the Port-au-Prince cityscapes.

Backdrop: Pascale at the market

This amazing painting by Bruno captures a market scene in Port-au-Prince with all the people and activity. In this scene, we will begin to get the sense of contact being made between the girls – the “I see you” …

Backdrop: Pascale is not going to school

Ronaldo painted this beautiful – almost idyllic — scene of three little girls going to school on the first day. When everything comes together, this scene will show Pascale walking by knowing she is not going to school.
